PITTSBURGH - University of Pittsburgh gymnasts Brianna Hogan, Laura Kummerle, Kori Macdonald and Katie O'Rourke have been named Scholastic All-Americans for the 2013-14 academic year as announced by the National Association of Collegiate Gymnastics Coaches/Women (NACGC/W) on Tuesday.
Former Pitt gymnast and three time honoree Hogan led the way for Pitt with a perfect 4.0 GPA. The rehab science major was one of only 63 gymnasts in the nation to maintain a perfect GPA.
Another rehab science major Kummerle followed close behind recording a 3.98 GPA during her sophomore year. This was her second time being honored.
2014 graduates O'Rourke and Macdonald rounded out the list for the Panthers. Macdonald finished the year with a 3.88 GPA in Bioengineering while O'Rourke recorded a 3.61 GPA in Media and Professional Communications. Both gymnasts have previously been named Scholastic All-Americans making this number three for Macdonald and the second for O'Rourke.
The NACGC/W recognizes those student-athletes who attain a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher as a Scholastic All-American.
