Panthers to Host Harvard for Non-Conference Matchup

PITTSBURGH - The Pitt men's soccer team (5-6-3, 0-5-1 ACC) is set to face Harvard (5-4-2, 3-0-0 Ivy) for a non-conference matchup Tuesday, Oct. 20, at 3:30 p.m. at Ambrose Urbanic Field. Fans can watch the game live on ESPN3.
This will be the first meeting between the two teams.
LAST TIME OUT
Pitt fell to No. 19 Virginia, 3-1, on Friday in Charlottesville, Va. Although suffering a loss to the reigning College Cup Champions, the Panthers took the first lead of the game thanks to freshman Matt Bragg.
HOME COOKING
Prior to its road trip to Virginia, the Panthers finished off its five-game home stand with a record of 1-2-2. The 2015 schedule features 11 total home games at Ambrose Urbanic Field and just six away matches. After completing nine home games thus far, the Panthers have walked away with four wins, three losses and two ties. The final two home matchups include Tuesday's match against Harvard and Duke on Oct. 24, for Senior Night.

SCOUTING THE CRIMSON
Harvard enters Tuesday's game on a four-game winning streak and leads the Ivy League with a perfect 3-0 record. The Crimson defeated conference-foe Brown on Friday, 1-0, recording its third straight shutout.
Leading the charge is senior forward Jake Freeman who has tallied nine points this season after with four goals and one assist. In goal, senior Evan Mendez has kept the Crimson safe as he has made 44 total saves in all 11 games this season.
UP NEXT
The Panthers will return to Ambrose Urbanic Field for the last time of the regular season on Saturday, Oct. 24, to take on the Duke Blue Devils at 7 p.m. The game will serve as Pitt's "Senior Night", where Patrick Dixon, Dan Lynd, Steven Machi and Andrew Wright will be recognized.
