SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The Pitt men's soccer team (5-9-3, 0-6-1 ACC) suffered a 5-0 loss to No. 14 Notre Dame (9-3-5, 4-2-2 ACC) Saturday afternoon at Alumni Stadium.

In his last game as a Panther, senior goalkeeper and captain Dan Lynd made seven saves on the day. He finishes his career with 230 total, a mark that ranks sixth-best in program history.

Notre Dame's first goal came in the 18th minute as Jon Gallagher drew Lynd out of the goal and chipped it over the Pitt keeper into the back of the net from 18 yards out. The Panthers held the Irish scoreless for the remainder of the half.

ND gained a quick 4-0 lead in the second half, recording three goals within a two minute time span. The first came in the 54th minute off an Irish header that was put in near the far post from seven yards out.

Notre Dame struck again in the 56th minute off a corner kick that found Brandon Aubrey in the box and added its fourth just seconds later as Mark Gormley fired in a shot past Lynd from the right side.

Notre Dame tacked on its final goal in the 68th minute after a crossed ball by Gallagher along the goal line was tapped in by Jeffrey Farina.
