GREENSBORO, N.C. – University of Pittsburgh volleyball player Mariah Bell was named ACC Co-Player of the Week, alongside North Carolina’s Abigail Curry, as announced by league officials on Monday.
The outside hitter aided in Pitt’s undefeated weekend, which included an upset of No. 15 Florida State and a victory over Miami.
"Mariah was our strongest attacker this weekend,” said head coach Dan Fisher. “Her play was a huge part of our two wins. We are all very excited for her and pleased with the ACC’s selection."
Bell tallied 16 kills with a .344 hitting percentage against the top-ranked Seminoles and added 11 kills against the Hurricanes. She concluded the weekend with 4.50 kills per set.
On the season, the California native has recorded six double-doubles, including a career high 20 kill, 10 dig night against Bowling Green.
Bell will look to continue her impressive season as the Panthers take on Louisville and Notre Dame on the road this weekend.
