PITTSBURGH - In the most dominating individual defensive performance by an FBS player this season, Ejuan Price's five sacks vs. Louisville checks in at No. 6 on Pitt's #Top15of15.
Price was unstoppable against the Cardinals, tallying 10 tackles, 6 TFLs and five sacks. For his efforts, Price was named the National Defensive Player of the Week by the Maxwell Football Club and the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA).
His five sacks were the most by an FBS player this season.
The first team All-ACC selection led the league and ranked fifth nationally in quarterback sacks per game (0.96). He also ranked second nationally in tackles for loss per game (1.6).
He finished the season with 11.5 sacks and 19.5 tackles for loss. The 11.5 total sacks are the most by a Pitt player since 2000.
The Woodland Hills product was a force from the moment he stepped on the field against the Cardinals. He had two sacks in the first half, and three additional in the second half, which helped the Panthers defeat Louisville 45-34 and improve to 8-3 on the year.
Price and the Panthers will play No. 21 Navy a week from today in the Military Bowl in Annapolis, Md. Kickoff is set for 2:30 p.m. on ESPN.
