Pitt Cross Country in Action at PSU National Open

PITTSBURGH - The University of Pittsburgh men's and women's cross country teams will conclude regular-season action Friday morning at the Penn State National Open at the Blue & White Course in University Park, Pa.
The women's 6,000-meter race is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. ET, while the men's 5.2-mile race is slated for an 12:15 p.m. ET start. A recap of the day's events, including results and times, will be posted to PittsburghPanthers.com.
SCOUTING THE FIELD
- Ranked teams on the men's side include No. 9 Oklahoma State, No. 10 Ole Miss, No. 19 Virginia, and No. 28 Virginia Tech.
- For the women, ranked teams include No. 8 Penn State, followed by No. 14 Oklahoma State, No. 25 Ole Miss and No. 30 West Virginia.
ZEH NAMED ACC CO-PERFORMER OF THE WEEK
- For her contributions to Pitt's win at the CMU Invitational Saturday, sophomore MaKenzie Zeh was named Atlantic Coast Conference Women's Cross Country Co-Performer of the Week, announced Tuesday.
- Zeh is the first from Pitt to earn the award since Melanie Vlasic did for the week of Sept. 15, 2015. The honor is the first of the Pittsburgh native's career. Zeh shared the accolade with junior Bridget Blake of Florida State.
- At Saturday's CMU Invitational at Pittsburgh's Schenley Park, Zeh posted a personal-best 5K time of 19:05.7 as well as a career-best finish of third.
LOOKING AHEAD
- The Panthers will travel to Cary, N.C., for the 2016 ACC Cross Country Championships, set for Friday, Oct. 28, in Cary, N.C.
