PITTSBURGH – The University of Pittsburgh wrestling program is a historic and cherished one.
Local kids grow up watching the Panthers wrestle in the Fitzgerald Field House and it becomes their dream to wear the Pitt singlet. Out-of-state wrestlers respect the program and fall in love with the small-campus feel surrounded by the city of Pittsburgh.
The Pitt coaching staff is made up of three former Panthers who all found success here, as well as a seasoned head coach who learned from the second winningest coach at the University of Pittsburgh, Rande Stottlemyer.
Junior Dom Forys, a Pittsburgh product, takes advantage of all the benefits offered at Pitt outside of the wrestling room. The 2016 All-ACC selection is involved in the Life Skills program for student-athletes and was recently recognized with the PNC Bank Beyond the Game honor for his community service efforts.
The Panthers open the 2016-17 campaign Sunday, Nov. 6, at the Moutaineer Duals in Morgantown, W.Va. Season and single-dual tickets are now on sale and may be purchased online or by calling the Panthers Ticket Office at 800-643-7488.
