Panthers Set for Roy Griak Invitational

PITTSBURGH – The University of Pittsburgh men’s and women’s cross country teams will compete at the 31st annual Roy Griak Invitational at Les Bolstad Golf Course in Falcon Heights, Minn., Saturday.
The men’s 8K race will start at 1:20 p.m. ET, and the women’s 6K race will follow at 2:35 p.m. ET. A recap of the day’s events, including results and times, will be posted to PittsburghPanthers.com.

Runners from 37 Division I schools will compete at the invitational.

On the men’s side, eight USTFCCCA-ranked teams will compete: No. 14 Boise State, No. 17 Michigan, No. 19 Oklahoma, No. 19 Portland, No. 22 Furman, No. 24 Colorado State, No. 26 Southern Utah and No. 30 Michigan State.

Nine USTFCCCA-ranked women’s teams will race, including three in the top 10: No. 6 Boise State, No. 9 Michigan State, No. 10 Michigan, No. 13 Penn State, No. 17 Iowa State, No. 20 San Francisco, No. 25 Minnesota, No. 29 Mississippi State and No. 30 Portland.

Next up for the women’s team is the CMU Invitational at Schenley Park in Pittsburgh. The race will start at 10 a.m. ET Saturday, Oct. 8.

The men and women will get a preview of the 2016 NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regionals site when they race at PSU Nationals Friday, Oct. 14, in University Park, Pa.
