Entering his 20th season at the helm of the University of Pittsburgh baseball team, head coach Joe Jordano is the winningest coach in program history. Hear the skipper chat about what he’s expecting from the upcoming weekend of scrimmages…
On what the team has been focusing on in practice this week..
“We have been focusing on making certain we are capable of repeating things. Mental and physical reps to insure maximum success. We have also spent some additional time on base running and our pick plays. We should be comfortable, at this point, with the expectation we have for each phase of the team. It is a matter of repeating it every day.”
On what he is expecting from the team in this weekend’s scrimmages…
“Our goal is to have two games that display our team strengths and that we minimize opportunities for the other team. Play clean, play with intensity and play smart.”
On who he is looking forward to seeing standout this weekend…
“Again, I am looking forward to seeing the fundamental areas being executed at a high percentage. I have mentioned a few times before that we must be an efficient team. We are making strides towards that but I really want to see it throughout an entire game."
