
Pitt Lands 18 on EAGL All-Academic Team

PITTSBURGH — The University of Pittsburgh women's gymnastics team landed 18 representatives on the East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) All-Academic Team, as announced by the conference on Friday.
For the fourth year in a row, the Panthers lead all EAGL teams as Pitt bests its own mark of 16 honorees from last season.
Rachel Dugan, Deven Herbine, Lucy Jones, Hallie Peele, Alecia Petrikis, Megan Tripp, Lucy Brett, Krista Collins, Kensleigh Owens, Charli Spivey, Brittany West, Meagan Oscar, Dani Hall, Taylor Laymon, Maegan Higdon, Kelly Burak, Ellie Pikula and Erika Reichert all represent the University of Pittsburgh on the EAGL's list.
In order to be considered for the EAGL's All-Academic Team, a gymnast must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above. This season, 82 total gymnasts in the six schools were honored.
The Panthers close out the regular season today, traveling to No. 20 Auburn for an ACC-SEC showdown. The EAGL Championships are set for Saturday, March 18 at NC State as Pitt looks to defend its conference title.
