
Six Panther Gymnasts Named to All-EAGL Teams

PITTSBURGH — The East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) announced its All-EAGL sections Monday, as six Panthers found their names amongst the league's best.
Tracey Pearson, Meagan Oscar, Taylor Laymon, Lucy Brett, Brittany West and Dani Hall all earned recognition from the conference as at least one Panther was recognized on each of the sport's four events. Additionally, Pearson was recognized on both vault and floor.
On vault, Pearson landed on the first team, boasting an RQS of 9.850, tied for 44th in the nation and good for third in the region and fourth in the conference. Earning second team recognition, Oscar brings a 9.780 RQS into the postseason, ranking 17th in the region and 15th in the EAGL.
On bars, Laymon earns first team recognition with an RQS of 9.820, ranking 6th in the region and seventh in the conference. She is joined by Brett, who garnered second team distinction, bringing a 9.810 RQS, good for 10th in the region and 11th in the conference.
West represents the Panthers on beam as she was awarded second team honors. With an RSQ of 9.810 she ranks 15th in the region and 13th in the EAGL.
On floor, Pearson cops her second first team honor of the season, boasting an RQS of 9.855, good for 13th in the region and sixth in the conference. Hall lands on the second team with an RQS of 9.815, good for 20th in the region and 16th in the conference.
The Panthers will head to Cary, N.C., for the 2017 EAGL Championships, looking to defend their 2016 title. Competition is set for Saturday, March 18.
