
Panthers Shatter Attendance Records in 2017

PITTSBURGH — Coming off its first East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) title in program history, the University of Pittsburgh gymnastics program shattered home attendance records in the 2017, as both single-meet and season number were eclipsed.
The 2017 season attendance saw a 54.53 percent increase from 2016 and a 34.35 percent increase from the second highest average.
In addition, the Panthers set a single-meet record in their home finale on Friday, as 1,587 fans packed Fitzgerald Field House, breaking the previous high by 56 percent.
The home portion of the 2017 season came to an end on Friday as the Panthers set a season-high with a score of 195.375. Pitt will return to action Friday, traveling to SEC powerhouse and No. 20 Auburn for the regular season finale. EAGL Championships are set to get underway the following weekend in Cary, N.C., at host NC State.
