
No. 18 Pitt on the Road for Duals at Rider

PITTSBURGH – The Pitt wrestling team, ranked No. 18 in the NWCA Coaches Poll this week, travels to Lawrenceville, N.J. for a trio of matches against No. 24 Maryland, No. 14 South Dakota State, and Rider. Matches begin at 10 a.m. and will air in a split-screen broadcast on BroncVision.
THE SERIES
- The Panthers (2-1) continue their stretch of four consecutive matches against top 25 opponents. The Panthers are currently 1-1 against ranked opponents this season, defeating then No. 18 Lehigh 21-12 and falling to No. 5 Ohio State, 20-17.
- Pitt leads the all-time series against Maryland 24-7, including winning seven of the last eight meetings dating back to 2012.
- Pitt will face South Dakota State for just the third time in program history and the first time since defeating the Jackrabbits 34-0 in 2019.
- The Panthers travel to Rider for just the second time and first since defeating the Broncs 21-13 in 2006. Pitt holds a 3-2 edge all-time against Rider and has won the last three meetings.

- The Panthers moved up one spot in the NWCA Coaches Poll this week and have been ranked in the top 25 for seven consecutive weeks.
- The Panthers have nine wrestlers ranked in the InterMat and 10 wrestlers ranked in the FloWrestling individual rankings, including five wrestlers ranked in the top 20.
- No. 11 Reece Heller (184) has won all six matches this season, including a 3-0 mark in dual meets.
- No. 13 Dayton Pitzer (285) and No. 17 Luca Augustine (174) each own a 3-0 record in dual meets this season. Two of Pitzer's wins this season have come by technical falls.
- Redshirt sophomore Jared Keslar was named the ACC Wrestler of the Week following a strong performance against No. 5 Ohio State. He earned a ranked win at 165 over No. 8 Sammy Sasso in his first match back since suffering a hand injury in November.
