
Nine Panthers Garner 1A FAR Academic Excellence Award

PITTSBURGH — Balancing academic achievement with athletic success, nine University of Pittsburgh student-athletes have been honored with the 1A Faculty Athletics Representatives (FAR) Academic Excellence Award, the organization announced this week.
The 1A FAR Academic Excellence Award recognizes outstanding student-athletes for their significant accomplishments in the classroom while competing at the highest level of college sports.
The award is given annually to student-athletes who graduate with a cumulative GPA of 3.80 or above and have participated in at least two years of NCAA Intercollegiate athletics at a Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) institution.

- Maria Donahue – Lacrosse
- Gracie Kahoun – Lacrosse
- Haylee Mersereau – Women's Soccer
- Sophie Yendell – Swimming & Diving
- Ellen Baker – Cross Country and Track & Field
- Isabella Bufalini – Cross Country and Track & Field
- Caleia Johnson – Track & Field
- Nisa Buzlutepe – Volleyball
