Babcock and Kelley Earn Major ACC Awards, Five Panthers Named to All-ACC Teams

PITTSBURGH – Five Panthers were named to the All-ACC Team, announced by the conference Monday night. Olivia Babcock was named the ACC Player of the Year for the second consecutive season after an incredible junior campaign, and Bre Kelley is the first Panther in program history to notch ACC Defensive Player of the Year honors.
Babcock is averaging 5.84 points per set and has collected five ACC Offensive Player of the Week honors this season. She notched AVCA National Player of the Week honors after setting the program record with 41 kills against Louisville, which she later broke against North Carolina (45). She was also named First Team All-ACC for the third straight year and is an AVCA National Player of the Year Semifinalist.
Brooke Mosher quarterbacked the Pitt offense all season and was awarded First Team All-ACC honors. She is averaging a career-best 9.76 assists per set as Pitt is hitting .306 as a team, good for sixth in the country. Mosher has recorded seven double-doubles this season and earned three ACC Setter of the Week honors.
In her redshirt senior season, Bre Kelley has impressed on both the defensive and offensive end. She was named a First Team All-ACC player for the second straight season and is averaging an impressive 1.51 blocks per set, which ranks eighth nationally and first in the ACC. Kelley is also hitting .354 and adding 1.44 kills per set. She earned ACC Defensive Player of the Week after dominant performances against Pepperdine and Jacksonville in which she averaged 2.10 blocks and 1.90 kills per set.
Blaire Bayless has enjoyed a breakout junior year as a starter and is a Second Team All-ACC selection. She is averaging 2.66 kills per set and hitting an efficient .293. Bayless recorded a career-high 16 kills in the win against Georgia Tech and a personal-best 11 digs against Louisville. She has hit at least .400 in seven matches and notched double-digit kills in 13 matches.
Marina Pezelj was named to the All-ACC Freshman Team for her efforts in her first season as a Panther. She averaged 1.95 kills per set and 1.73 digs per set while hitting .231 in conference play.
