
Panthers Record Highest NCAA Relay Finish in 38 Years

Federal Way, WA – Pitt's women's 800 free relay team set a new school record and recorded the program's highest NCAA relay finish in 38 years on the first night of the NCAA Women's Championships.
The relay team of Avery Kudlac (1:44.85), Sydney Gring (1:45.55), Mary Clarke (1:46.93) and Kimmy Shannon (1:46.05) finished 18th overall with a school record time of 7:03.38.
Avery Kudlac's 1:44.85 leadoff leg bested her previous school record from the ACC Championships a month ago as Pitt set two school records in one race.
The previous 800 Free Relay record was held by Kudlac, Gring, Clarke and Claire Jansen (7:03.77) at the ACC Championships nearly one month to the day.
Pitt's 200 Medley Relay team of Sydney Gring, Jess Strong, Sophie Yendell and Claire Jansen (1:36.29) placed 22nd in the first event of the evening.
