PITTSBURGH - Women's swimmers, Claire Jansen and Sophie Yendell, and men's diver, Cameron Cash, were named All-Americans by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) this week.
Jansen (100 Back), Yendell (50 Free, 100 Fly) and Cash (3M Diving) all earned CSCAA second-team honors.
Fifth-year senior Sophie Yendell earned NCAA All-America (50 Free) and NCAA honorable mention All-America (100 Fly) status at the NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving Championships earlier this month. Yendell placed fifth in the final of the Women's 50 Free and became Pitt's highest woman NCAA finisher in the program's history. Yendell swam a 21.66 (11.27 split) to earn All-America status for the first time in her prestigious career. She became Pitt's first female All-American swimmer since 1986 (Susan Hickman - 50 Free). Yendell holds the 50 Free school record with the 21.30 she swam at the ACC Championships a month ago. At the time, her 21.30 was the 17th fastest performance of all time. Yendell would go on to set the school record in the 100 Fly (50.83) as she earned also honorable mention All-America honors.
Claire Jansen earned the first All-America honor of her career at the NCAA Women's Championships, finishing 16th in the 100 Back. In her third trip to the NCAA Championships, the junior broke through and earned her first honorable mention All-America accolade. In the prelims, Jansen re-set her school record in the 100 Back by swimming a 51.17. Her previous mark, set at this year's ACC Championships, stood for only a month.
Cameron Cash earned NCAA All-America honors in 3-Meter Diving at the Men's NCAA Championships. Cash finished 6th in the 3-Meter finals with his score of 391.20 to earn All-America status. The senior is the first men's diver in program history to earn All-America honors in back-to-back years. He is Pitt's first diver to achieve such a feat since 1995-96. Cash earned All-America honors on the 3-Meter last year as well, finishing fourth in 2024.
