Pitt to Host Ohio State at Petersen Events Center Friday, Nov. 28

PITTSBURGH – Pitt will host Ohio State Friday, Nov. 28 in a marquee non-conference game at the Petersen Events Center as announced Tuesday morning. The Panthers posted a dramatic 91-90 overtime win over the Buckeyes in the first game of the home-and-home series last season.
Pitt's retooled roster for the 2025-26 season currently features four transfers – Barry Dunning, Jr. (South Alabama), Nojus Indrusaitis (Iowa State), Dishon Jackson (Iowa State), and Damarco Minor (Oregon State) along with returning letterwinners Papa Amadou Kante, Cameron Corhen, Brandin Cummings, and Amdy Ndiaye.
The Panthers also have a talented incoming freshman class led by Omari Witherspoon signed for next season. Pitt is expected to continue to add to the roster with multiple roster spots remaining.
SERIES HISTORY
Pitt has won the past three meetings between the two teams but trails the series history with Ohio State, 15-12. The Panthers will be hosting the Buckeyes for the first time since 2002 when they recorded a 69-49 win at the Petersen Events Center. This season's matchup will be just the third meeting between the two teams since the early 1960s.
THE LAST MEETING
Zack Austin buried his fifth three-pointer of the game with 0.4 seconds remaining as Pitt overcame a double-figure halftime deficit en route to the road win at Value City Arena last season. The Panthers, ranked 25th in the USA Today Coaches Poll, trailed by 12 with 17:40 left in the contest before Papa Amadou Kante entered the contest and helped shift momentum. Amadou Kante finished the day with a career-high 12 points to go along with four offensive rebounds and a blocked shot as his energy and enthusiasm ignited the Panthers.
