Firoved Named Second Team All-Region

PITTSBURGH - Pitt's Ethan Firoved was named to the ABCA/Rawlings All-Region Second Team as a relief pitcher, it was announced earlier this week.
Firoved's second team honor was the first postseason award of his career. It's the second-consecutive year the Panthers have had an all-region performer. Pitt's Phil Fox garnered first team honors as a relief pitcher last season.
The left-handed pitcher from Virginia Beach, VA served as Pitt's closer and high-leverage arm out of the bullpen in 2025. He earned a career-high eight saves and three wins as a senior this past season. Firoved struck out 75 batters over his 53.2 innings while maintaining a 3.86 ERA in his 23 appearances.
Firoved was used as an unconventional closer in the final year of his collegiate career as five of his eight saves were multiple innings in length. Eighteen of his twenty-three appearances were five outs or more.
As a Panther, Firoved threw 132 innings across 62 appearances with 167 strikeouts in his three years with the program.
