MAJOR MATCHUPS AT THE PETE
The Panthers 2025-26 home schedule currently features power conference contests against Ohio State (Nov. 28) and Texas A&M (Dec. 2) along with ACC battles with Duke, Louisville, NC State, Syracuse, Notre Dame, Clemson, SMU, Florida State, and Wake Forest.
Louisville (No. 7), Duke (No. 12), and NC State (No. 24) are ranked in ESPN's Way to Early Top 25, while Ohio State sits just outside the top 25. Game dates, times, and TV designations for ACC contests will be announced in September.
SERIES HISTORY
Pitt topped the Aggies 79-62 in the Sugar Bowl Classic on Dec. 27, 1985 in the only other meeting between the two schools. Charles Smith scored a game-high 24 points on 8-of-12 shooting from the field and an 8-of-8 effort from the foul line, while Curtis Aiken added an efficient 21 points on 10-of-13 shooting form the field. The Panthers grabbed a four-point lead at the half before going 20-of-31 (.645) from the field in the second half to blow the game open.
2025-26 PITT PANTHERS
Pitt returns four scholarship letterwinners in Papa Amadou Kante, Cameron Corhen, Brandin Cummings, and Amdy Ndiaye, while also signing four players out of the transfer portal in Barry Dunning, Jr. (South Alabama), Nojus Indrusaitis (Iowa State), Dishon Jackson (Iowa State), and Damarco Minor (Oregon State).
The Panthers have also grabbed four signees without collegiate experience in Omari Witherspoon (St. John's College), Henry Lau (Sydney Boys High/Sydney Kings), Macari Moore (Ann Arbor Huron), and Kieran Mullen (St. Thomas More). Pitt remains active in this recruiting cycle as it looks to continue to add impact players for the 2025-26 season.
