
Matteazzi Wins Gold at Sette Colli, Qualifies for World Championships

PITTSBURGH – At Sette Colli last week, men's swimmer Max Matteazzi won a gold medal in the 200 IM.
With his performance, he qualified for the World Championships in Singapore later this month. Matteazzi will represent his home country of Italy.
Matteazzi swam a 1:58.77 in the 200 IM to earn his gold medal, outswimming the rest of the competition by nearly a half of a second.
The Trofeo Settecolli IP - Internazionali di Nuoto, or Sette Colli, is considered "one of the longest-running and most prestigious meets on the international scene".
The Swimming World Championships kickoff on Saturday, July 26th in Singapore and will wrap up on the following Sunday, August 3rd.
