PITTSBURGH – Seeking its program-record seventh-straight NCAA Tournament appearance, the Pitt men's soccer program is set to open the 2025 campaign on Thursday, Aug. 21 when it hosts MAAC foe Quinnipiac. Kickoff from Ambrose Urbanic Field is slated for 8 p.m.

The Opening Kick
- The Panthers, who fell to eventual national champion Vermont in the national quarterfinals a season ago, return five starters from last season's squad - including 2024 ACC Defensive Player of the Year Casper Svendby.
- Svendby enjoyed a decorated 2024 campaign, earning First Team All-American honors, while being named a semifinalist for the MAC Hermann Trophy.
- In addition to returning most of its starting back line from last season, the Panthers welcome several transfers from quality programs, including Tomas Bedouret (Oregon State), Anders Bordoy (Memphis), Marco Silva (Marshall) and Josh Hardin (Akron).
- Legendary head coach Jay Vidovich is coming off his league-record eighth ACC Coach of the Year honor in 2024, as he enters his 10th season at Pitt.
- The Panthers are unbeaten in season-openers since 2020-21, boasting a 4-0-1 record.

- Quinnipiac compiled a 7-9-1 record, including a 4-4-0 mark in MAAC play last year.
- The Bobcats return 18 players from a season ago, highlighted by second leading scorer William Holum (3 goals, 3 assists).
