PITTSBURGH – Pitt redshirt junior Kyle Louis was named the ACC Linebacker of the Week for his play in the Panthers' dominant 61-9 win over Duquesne last weekend.
Louis opened the 2025 campaign with six tackles, three tackles for loss and two sacks against the Dukes. His two sacks came on consecutive plays in the first quarter, single-handedly halting one of Duquesne's first drives of the game. Louis matched his single-game career high with the two sacks. He notched two in their game vs. Clemson (Nov. 16) last season.
The 2024 First Team All-American currently leads the ACC in both sacks and tackles for loss. Nationally, he ranks third in sacks and fifth in tackles for loss after the first week of play.
Louis and the Panther defense held Duquesne to just 37 yards on the ground and 208 yards in total this past Saturday. Under Narduzzi, Pitt is now 21-3 when keeping opponents under 250 yards of total offense.
Pitt will now set their sights on MAC foe Central Michigan (1-0) this Saturday at noon at Acrisure Stadium. The game will be televised on ESPNU can also be heard on 93.7 The Fan.
