Bayless, Reid Named PNC Achievers of the Week

PITTSBURGH – Volleyball's Blaire Bayless and football's Desmond Reid have been selected as Pitt's PNC Achievers of the Week following a pair of standout performances over the past week.
Bayless delivered a breakout effort at the net, posting a career-high 14 kills while hitting .448 in a four-set victory over No. 25 TCU. She followed with a team-best nine kills on a .292 clip in a sweep of No. 7 Arizona State. The outside hitter also added a career-high five blocks against the Sun Devils, helping the Panthers to a pair of ranked wins.
Reid sparked Pitt football in its opener against Duquesne, totaling 147 all-purpose yards and two long touchdowns. The senior running back electrified Acrisure Stadium on his first touch of the season, racing 88 yards for a punt-return score—the longest in stadium history. He later added a 53-yard rushing touchdown on his first carry of the second half, fueling the Panthers' season-opening victory.
