PITTSBURGH—Senior wide receiver Cataurus Hicks has been added to the watch list for the 2026 Biletnikoff Award, presented annually to college football's outstanding Football Bowl Subdivision receiver at any position.
The Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation, the award's creator and sponsor, announced the additions Wednesday.
A Miami, Fla., native, Hicks leads the Panthers in receptions (31), receiving yards (649) and touchdown catches (five) through eight games. He is averaging 20.9 yards per reception and 81.1 receiving yards per contest.
Hicks has delivered consecutive 100-yard receiving performances, totaling 284 yards and two touchdowns on 10 catches over Pitt's past two games. He caught five passes for a career-high 149 yards and a touchdown at No. 1 Miami on Oct. 24, surpassing his previous best of 135 yards at Boston College one week earlier.
Against the Eagles, Hicks caught a 75-yard touchdown pass on Pitt's first play from scrimmage, producing the Panthers' longest touchdown of the season. He followed that performance with a 36-yard scoring reception against the Hurricanes.
Hicks owns three 100-yard receiving games this season, including a 114-yard effort against Miami (Ohio) in the opener. He is the first Panther with at least three such performances through the first eight games of a season since Jordan Addison had four in 2021.
Over Pitt's past four games, Hicks has compiled 397 receiving yards and four touchdowns on 19 receptions.
The Biletnikoff Award recognizes performance during the current season, with any player who catches a pass eligible regardless of position. Receivers are added to the watch list throughout the season as their performances warrant.
The Biletnikoff Award National Selection Committee will select the semifinalists, three finalists and winner. Semifinalists will be announced Nov. 16, followed by the finalists Nov. 24. The winner will be revealed Dec. 11 on The Home Depot College Football Awards.
