Chiu, Gatons Named PNC Achievers of the Week

PITTSBURGH – Gymnastics' Camryn Chiu and track and field's Quintin Gatons were named Pitt's PNC Achievers of the Week for their standout performances over the past week.
Chiu enjoyed the best meet of her career against NC State on Sunday as the Panthers notched a season-best 195.525. The sophomore recorded a career-high 9.900 on bars and beam to win her first two event titles. Chiu also notched a 9.800 on both bars and beam in the West Virginia quad meet on Friday night.
Gatons won the men's 3000-meter invite at the PSU National Open this past Saturday. He recorded a personal best time of 7:58.37 to become the second student-athlete in school history to run the even in under eight minutes. The Greensburg, Pa. native was under one second shy of breaking the previous school record of 7:57.39, set in 2022.
