PITTSBURGH—Few cities in the country embody the spirit of football quite like Pittsburgh, and a new project from NFL Films places Pitt Football at the heart of that story.
The Football Town, an immersive documentary produced by NFL Films in partnership with VisitPITTSBURGH, highlights the deep-rooted football culture of Western Pennsylvania while showcasing the powerful connection between the city's youth, collegiate and professional programs, including the long-standing partnership between Pitt Football and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
That relationship comes to life throughout the project, which features rare, behind-the-scenes access inside the Pitt Football program. Pitt head coach Pat Narduzzi was exclusively mic'd up for the production, offering an authentic look at his leadership, preparation and in-game emotion.
One of the documentary's centerpiece segments focuses on Pitt's Homecoming game against NC State, capturing the full game-day experience at Acrisure Stadium. Cameras followed the Panthers from pregame buildup to postgame moments, including unprecedented access inside the locker room before, during and after the game.
The Football Town also features Pitt's national spotlight moment when ESPN's College GameDay came to Pittsburgh. The film highlights the energy surrounding the city, the passion of Panthers fans and the role Pitt Football plays in helping anchor the region's football identity.
Beyond game days, NFL Films was also granted exclusive access to select 2025 practices, documenting the daily work that fuels the program.
Together, those elements underscore Pitt Football's position in a city defined by the sport. From shared facilities to aligned values and tradition, Pitt and the Steelers continue to represent a unified football presence unlike anywhere else in the country.
As Pittsburgh builds toward hosting the 2026 NFL Draft, The Football Town serves as both a celebration and a statement that this city is deeply rooted in the game, with Pitt Football proudly at the center of it all.
The first-ever immersive-format documentary produced by NFL Films, The Football Town premieres Saturday, Feb. 28, at Kamin Science Center's Rangos Giant Cinema and will run exclusively for two months leading up to the 2026 NFL Draft in Pittsburgh (April 23-25).
