MOBILE, Ala.—Linebacker Kyle Louis had an impressive week at the Senior Bowl recently, emerging as one of the most talked-about players in front of NFL scouts, coaches and national media.
Louis, who played for Pitt from 2022-25, declared for the 2026 NFL Draft at the end of last season and used his week in Mobile to further cement his reputation as a versatile linebacker who makes impact plays.
Turning Heads From Day 1
From the first practice session, Louis made noise across Senior Bowl coverage, highlighted by strong work in drills and one-on-ones. On Day 1, media in attendance noted his range, speed and versatility, including interceptions and a forced fumble that caught fire on social media.
Sports Illustrated also noted Louis' ball skills and coverage instincts, pointing to an interception in coverage against Penn State running back Nick Singleton.
Talk of the Senior Bowl
By midweek, Louis earned national attention for more than individual plays. On3 wrote that Louis "was the talk of the Senior Bowl," noting how his consistent performances made him one of the most discussed defenders in Mobile. Journalists also highlighted his rise from an under-the-radar recruit to a standout Senior Bowl performer as a reflection of his development at Pitt.
Making Plays When It Matters
Louis didn't just put together routine reps. The East Orange, N.J., native made impact plays. On the final day of practices, reports noted that Louis returned an interception for a touchdown in team drills and followed it with more big hits and pass breakups.
Analysts covering the week's concluding practices also emphasized how his performance could elevate his draft stock, showcasing his ability to contribute as a coverage linebacker in nickel packages and as a physical defender near the line of scrimmage.
Zebra Technologies even named Louis its Practice Player of the Week for his efforts in Mobile.
A Rising Draft Profile
Louis' Senior Bowl week has added momentum to his pre-draft narrative, demonstrating to NFL personnel that he can compete both athletically and mentally at a high level. Following a decorated Pitt career that included multiple All-ACC honors and All-America recognition, Louis now turns his attention to workouts leading into the NFL Scouting Combine and Pro Day.
