Panthers Score Season-High 196.400 in Regular Season Finale

PITTSBURGH – The Pitt gymnastics team (6-12, 0-6 ACC) dominated West Virginia (9-14, 1-5 Big 12) and Illinois State (5-14, 0-0 MIC) with a season-high 196.400 on Sunday afternoon in the final meet at the Fitzgerald Field House. Pitt also recorded season highs on vault (49.075) and bars (49.325) and tied its season best on beam (48.825).
Vault
Freshmen Layla Bobek and Lailah Green led the Panthers with career-high 9.850s, followed by Olivia Giunta's 9.825, her second consecutive meet earning that score. Makenzie Grant continued her consistent performance on the event with a 9.800. Pitt's 49.075 marked its highest vault score of the season.
Bars
Jaime Pratt registered a 9.900 on bars, tying her personal best and marking her third 9.900 in the last four meets. Emily Todd and Camryn Chiu each posted impressive 9.875s, while senior Kennedy Duke added a 9.850 to tie her career high. Meika Lee notched a 9.825 for the second consecutive week. Pitt finished with a season-high 49.325, less than a tenth of a point shy of the program record (49.400).
Beam
Bobek continued her strong afternoon with a 9.875, tying her personal best. Hallie Copperwheat recorded a 9.800, and Todd added a 9.775.
Floor
Todd capped off her dominant meet with a 9.875 on floor, while Lee added a 9.850. Newcomer Madi Bell and Copperwheat each contributed 9.825s, and Grant and Giunta both scored 9.800s to help Pitt total a 49.175 on the event.
Up Next
Pitt heads to Greensboro, N.C., for the ACC Championship on Saturday, March 21. The Panthers will compete alongside NC State, North Carolina, Cal, Stanford and Clemson at First Horizon Coliseum. The meet will be streamed on ACC Network.
