PITTSBURGH – For the second-straight week, Pitt outfielder Lorenzo Carrier was named to Baseball America's National Team of the Week.
The reigning consensus National Player of the Week went 8-13 (.615) with 18 total bases, eight runs scored, seven RBI, three home runs and one double in the Panthers' four games this past week.
Pitt finished the week with a series win at Stanford. It was the first time since 2021 that the Panthers won their opening ACC series.
Lorenzo Carrier kicked off the weekend with a two-homer performance against the Cardinal on Friday night, slugging both solo and three-run home runs. Friday was Carrier's seventh-consecutive game with a home run.
He helped the Panthers clinch their first ACC series of the year with a 4-4 day on Sunday, scoring three runs and driving in one. He was intentionally walked six times this week.
