PITTSBURGH—Head Football Coach Pat Narduzzi and his staff have announced the 2026 recipients of the Ed Conway Award, presented annually to the most improved players during spring drills.
Redshirt senior offensive lineman Kendall Stanley is the offensive honoree, while redshirt sophomore linebacker Davin Brewton earns the defensive award.
Stanley (Albany, Ga./Rocky River) emerged as one of Pitt's most reliable and versatile performers along the offensive line this spring. After starting seven games and appearing in all 13 contests during the 2025 season, Stanley continued to build on that experience with a consistent spring, showcasing his ability to play multiple positions while providing veteran leadership up front.
"Kendall had a tremendous spring for us," Narduzzi said. "His experience and versatility are so valuable, especially with his ability to play both tackle and guard. He's physical, dependable and brings a great presence to our offensive line room. He's exactly what you want from a senior leader."
Brewton (Neptune, N.J./Red Bank Catholic) made a significant jump during spring drills, standing out with his physicality and instincts. After playing in nine games last season, he used the spring to take a major step forward within the linebacker unit.
"Davin really came on this spring," Narduzzi said. "He's a tough, physical linebacker who plays with great instincts. You can see his confidence growing every day. He took advantage of his reps and showed he can be a dependable guy for us."
The Conway Award has been presented since 1975 in honor of the late Ed Conway, who served as the radio play-by-play voice of Pitt football from 1970–73. A popular sports anchor with WTAE-TV, Conway passed away in 1974.
Pitt will conclude spring drills with its final jersey scrimmage today at Acrisure Stadium at 1 p.m. Fans can listen to the action on 100.1 FM and AM 1020 KDKA.
