PITTSBURGH – Macari Moore has announced that he will return to the Pitt men's basketball program for the 2026-27 season following a developmental freshman campaign in which he appeared in 22 contests for the Panthers.
Moore averaged 1.4 points per game in 5.9 minutes off the bench but was efficient offensively and provided big-play defensive ability. He shot 75 percent (3-of-4) from three-point range and was 87.5 percent (7-of-8) from the free-throw line. He had 11 steals, posting the third-best steal rate in the ACC (3.41 steals per 40 minutes) among all players with at least five steals on the season.
Moore had some big moments for the Panthers. He played a season-high 17 minutes at Boston College, finishing with five points, four rebounds, an assist and a steal. He had two first-half steals in Pitt's 64-63 win over Stanford in the first round of the ACC Tournament. His second theft in the closing moments of the half led to a driving layup at the buzzer that put Pitt ahead by eight at the break.
Along with those performances, he had three rebounds, an assist and a steal in a non-conference game against Bucknell and added five points and two rebounds in a win over Wake Forest. Moore also posted two points, two assists and a rebound in the final game of the 2025-26 season, a defeat to NC State in the ACC Tournament second round.
