PITTSBURGH - The Pitt Men's Basketball team received the 2025-26 NABC Team Academic Excellence Award, with two players, Cameron Corhen and Papa Amadou Kante, appointed to the NABC Honors Court for their academic achievement off the court.
The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC), comprised of over 5,000 coaches from varying levels of the sport, created awards to recognize the academic excellence of collegiate basketball players and their programs. The NABC presents programs that have an overall team GPA of 3.0 or higher for the 2025-26 academic year with the NABC Team Academic Excellence Award.
In addition to receiving the 2025-26 NABC Team Academic Excellence Award, Cameron Corhen (Sr.) and Papa Amadou Kante (Jr.) were honored for their personal performance in the classroom as they were named to the 2025-26 NABC Honors Court. The NABC Honors Court features junior, senior, and graduate student men's basketball players who finished the 2025-26 year with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.
"College basketball student-athletes do incredible things on the court, but their achievements in the classroom are equally worthy of celebration," said NABC Executive Director Craig Robinson. "Education is one of the NABC's core values, and the hundreds of programs and thousands of athletes represented on these awards reinforce the commitment to academic success that exists across all levels of our sport."
Over 2,300 players earned spots on the NABC Honors Court, and over 400 programs received NABC Team Academic Excellence Awards for 2025-26. A full list of Honors Court recipients is available HERE.
