PITTSBURGH – The Pitt men's basketball team will play nine non-conference games within the city limits, eight in the Petersen Events Center, among the team's 14 non-conference games in 2026-27.
The Panthers will play four home games in November and another four in December, along with the annual rivalry game against West Virginia inside PPG Paints Arena on Dec. 9. Pitt plays half of the 14 non-conference games against power conference opponents – Penn State, Butler, Villanova, Oklahoma, DePaul, Missouri and West Virginia.
The Panthers will open exhibition play Oct. 17 at Providence in a rematch of last year's 81-74 Pitt victory inside the Petersen Events Center. Pitt will begin regular season play by hosting Rider (Nov. 2) and Buffalo (Nov. 5) before a neutral site contest against Penn State inside the historic Palestra on Nov. 8.
Following that game, Pitt will play at Butler Nov. 13 before returning home to host Villanova (Nov. 17) and Central Michigan (Nov. 20). The Panthers will then compete in the Fort Myers Tip-Off with games against Oklahoma (Nov. 24) and DePaul (Nov. 26).
As the calendar turns, Pitt will play at Missouri on Dec. 1 for the ACC/SEC Challenge before closing out non-conference play with five straight games in Pittsburgh. The Panthers host Tarleton State Dec. 5 before the Dec. 9 contest with West Virginia at PPG Paints Arena. Pitt will close non-conference action by hosting Drexel (Dec. 15), Georgia State (Dec. 18) and Cleveland State (Dec. 21) in a six-day stretch.
ACC SCHEDULE
Pitt will play an 18-game ACC schedule, nine of which will be played at home. Those games include North Carolina, Syracuse, Virginia, Miami, Virginia Tech, Clemson, Boston College, Georgia Tech and California. Game dates, times and television designations for the ACC contests are expected to be announced in September.
