PITTSBURGH — University of Pittsburgh Director of Athletics C. Allen Greene has been named to the NCAA Division I Cabinet, serving as the Atlantic Coast Conference's athletic director representative for a two-year term that began July 1. The appointment comes as Pitt Chancellor Joan Gabel also begins a new leadership role within the ACC, having been named Vice-Chair of the ACC Board of Directors for the 2026-27 academic year.
The Division I Cabinet is a 20-member group that oversees day-to-day decision-making for Division I athletics, including ethical conduct, academic and athletics eligibility, membership and championships. The cabinet oversees the Academics and Eligibility Committee, the Membership Committee and the Sport Oversight Committees.
"I'm humbled to represent the ACC on the Division I Cabinet and grateful to Commissioner Phillips for the opportunity," Greene said. "This is an important moment for our conference and for college athletics as we navigate real change, and I look forward to representing the ACC's perspective in that work."
Greene joins a group that includes eight representatives from the autonomy conferences, two from nonautonomy Football Bowl Subdivision conferences, three from Football Championship Subdivision conferences, three from Division I subdivision conferences, one faculty athletics representative and three student-athlete representatives.
Greene has served as Pitt's Director of Athletics since Nov. 1, 2024.
