Wright, Moxom Named PNC Achievers of the Week

PITTSBURGH – La'Vell Wright of the Pitt football team and Jack Moxom of the men's soccer team have been selected as the PNC Achievers of the Week for their amazing performances on the field.
Jack Moxom delivered a standout week between the pipes, aiding Pitt to a pair of victories. The senior posted a season-high five saves in a 2-0 shutout of No. 17 Cornell on Sept. 15, his third clean sheet of the campaign. Over the weekend at Cal, Moxom came up with a series of critical second half stops to help secure a 2-1 road win, a result that delivered head coach Jay Vidovich his 100th career victory at Pitt and Pitt's first-ever win over the Bears.
Running back La'Vell Wright rushed for 81 yards on 14 carries with a touchdown in last Thursday's 27-13 win over Syracuse. Wright's 81 yards on the ground were his most as a Panther and the second-most in a game by a Pitt ballcarrier this season. Pitt's 245 rushing yards against the Orange were their most in a game against a power conference opponent since the 2022 Sun Bowl vs. UCLA. Wright has accumulated 174 all-purpose yards and a score through Pitt's first three games of the season.
