Olivia Babcock Named ACC Offensive Player Of The Week

CHARLOTTE – University of Pittsburgh senior volleyball player Olivia Babcock has been named the ACC Offensive Player of the Week for the third time this season. Babcock led No. 2 Pitt to a pair of three-set victories to open conference play.
The Panthers opened ACC action with a 25-19, 25-16, 25-20 win over Cal Friday night and then followed that up with a 25-21, 25-23, 25-21 sweep of then-No. 12 Stanford Sunday evening on ESPN.
In the win over Cal, Babcock led Pitt with 18 kills to go with a season-high five aces, five blocks and two digs. She followed that up with 20 kills, nine digs and four blocks in the sweep of No. 12 Stanford. With the performances, she took over the national lead in both kills per set and points per set.
For Babcock, it is the 12th time in her career that she has been named ACC Offensive Player of the Week and 18th weekly ACC honor (six ACC Freshman of the Week awards in 2023).
No. 2 Pitt will return to action Friday at Boston College at 7 p.m. The Panthers will close the weekend at Syracuse Sunday at 1 p.m.
