JUNIOR (2006): Seth Button made 33 starts in 40 appearances at first base in his first season with the Panthers...held one of the top batting averages in 2006 (.305) with 39 hits...tallied the second-highest number of homeruns on the team (nine) and also had six doubles...totaled 27 RBIs...was among team leaders in slugging percentage (.563) and in putouts (204)...in third start for the Panthers, connected on a two-run homerun to help the team to a 14-7 win over Belmont...hit second homerun of the season with a solo shot vs. Boston College...scored three runs in a 16-6 win over Sacred Heart...had a two-out, two-run double in a 9-3 win over St. Joseph[apos]s and combined with teammate Jeff Sevens for 22 of the 27 putouts in the game...had a two-run double in a 10-6 win over Akron...tallied homeruns in four of the team[apos]s last eight games...went 4-4 during that streak in a 14-0 win vs. Georgetown with two homeruns, four runs scored and three RBI[apos]s...tallied first career grand slam vs. Sacred Heart on March 7...had a five-game hitting streak to close out the season...had two or more hits in 10 different games.
AT GLOUCESTER COLLEGE: Seth Button earned NJCAA Defensive Player of the Year for his district and was also named to the All-District G team...named the MVP of the NJCAA Division III World Series, in which Gloucester County College won.
HIGH SCHOOL: Was drafted by Major League Baseball[apos]s Cleveland Indians in the 50th round of the 2003 Amateur Draft...helped Elk Lake HIgh School to the state championship game as a senior in 2003...named the Lackawanna League Division III North Player of the Year...was named an all-star at an impressive four different positions (catcher, first base, outfield and pitcher) while at Elk Lake High...also a standout basketball player at Elk Lake.
