FRESHMAN (2004): Mike Bassage owned a perfect 4-0 record with a 3.60 ERA, second on the team...picked up his first win as a Panther in the 9-8 victory over Niagara (March 24, G1)...pitched four innings and struck out a career-high four Purple Eagles while allowing just two hits...notched his second career win in the 6-5 comeback victory over Georgetown (April 23, G1)...pitched the final inning as the Panthers scored five runs in the last inning to seal the victory....also worked the final 1.2 innings against Notre Dame (April 25, G1) and picked up the win...allowed one run and three hits...tallied his fourth win of the season in the Panthers[apos] 5-1 victory over Duquesne at PNC Park (May 12)...pitched 2.0 innings of relief and allowed no hits and no runs while striking out two batters...combined for a shutout with Paul Nardozzi in the 11-0 victory over Akron (April 14, G1)...pitched the last two innings and struck out two Zips...pitched one inning and earned his first save in the Panthers[apos] 3-1 victory over Kent State (March 31)...struck out two batters in the frame...in his only start of the year, did not factor into the decision against Youngstown State (May 18)...pitched the first four innings and scattered five hits and allowed two runs (one earned) while striking out three batters and walking none.
