Panthers United: Student-Athlete Representation on Campus

Pitt Police Town Hall
Monica McNeil led efforts and collaborated with Student Affairs and the Black Action Society to provide a space for the student-athlete voice to be represented with regards to policing on campus and in the City of Pittsburgh and discussions surrounding public safety. Matt Wilson served as a panelist in the event.
Pitt Public Safety Advisory Committee
Track and Field student-athlete, Matt Wilson, is serving on the Public Safety Advisory Committee, which reports directly to the Chancellor and advises on issues of public safety. As part of his responsibilities, he will attend monthly meetings and will be prepared to speak during SAAC meetings to facilitate discussions around public safety and take concerns back to the PSAC.
EIADAC
Panthers United engaged with EIADAC (Equity, Inclusion and Anti-Discrimination Advocacy), a University Senate committee that identifies, reviews and monitors issues relating to equity, inclusion and respect for all members of the diverse University community. The Committee advocates for equity and inclusion in university practices, policies and programs. The Committee offers recommendations for maintaining, developing, and promoting anti-discriminatory policies and initiatives.
Shannah Mallett, track and field student-athlete, is representing Pitt Athletics on this committee.
