JUNIOR (2005): Jeff Stevens started all but eight games behind the plate for the Panthers and threw out an impressive 29 of 58 possible base stealers (50.0 percent)...ranked third on the team with six home runs and was fourth with 31 RBIs...five of his six home runs came against Big East opponents...had a nine-game hitting streak from April 9-20, scoring eight times and driving in eight runs...had two hits on nine separate occasions...in the three-game series vs. Villanova, he totaled four hits in eight at-bats,including three home runs and six RBIs...had two homeruns in the nightcap of the doubleheader vs. Villanova on April 16...finished 2-for-3 with a personal-best four RBIs, including a three-run home run vs. Boston College on May 8...had one hit and drew two walks while driving in two runs in the Big East final vs. Notre Dame.
PRIOR TO PITTSBURGH: Stevens joined the Panthers from Louisburg College...posted a .270 batting average with nine home runs and 36 RBIs.
HIGH SCHOOL: Started varsity all four years of high school...led team to Regional Championship in 2002...garnered First Team All-District, All-Regional, All-Metro and All-State as a senior...graduated with merit.
