RS SOPHOMORE (2007): Matt Thomas appeared in two games for the Panthers on the mound...threw 2.0 scoreless innings vs. Seton Hall on May 18 while giving up just one hit...tallied a 2.70 ERA for the season while giving up just one earned run...also threw 1.1 innings vs. Cincinnati on March 24. TROY UNIVERSITY: Thomas joined the Panthers as a transfer from Troy University where he played under head coach Bobby Pierce for two years...redshirted his freshman season...appeared in two games as a sophomore facing five batters in 1.2 innings of work.

HIGH SCHOOL: Thomas was a two-year member of the Crestwood high school baseball team under head coach Bob Merrit...posted a 1.57 ERA with a 5-2 record as a junior and a 1.39 ERA with a 6-2 record as a senior.
