Taylor Gossman joined the University of Pittsburgh strength and conditioning staff in October of 2018 as an assistant strength and conditioning coach. Gossman oversees all aspects of strength and conditioning for baseball, cross country and track & field (jumping events, multis and pole vault).
Prior to Pitt, Gossman spent two years as a graduate assistant strength and conditioning coach at Mississippi State University from 2016-18. While at MSU, he worked directly with baseball, men’s golf, women’s soccer and track and field. During his time as a GA at MSU, he was a part of a Super Regional appearance in 2017 and a College World Series appearance in 2018 with baseball, as well as men’s golf’s first team postseason appearance in five years in 2017 and women’s soccer’s best season finish in 16 years. Prior to working with Olympic sports, Gossman served as a strength and conditioning intern with Mississippi State University’s football team from 2015-16. Before his internship at MSU, Gossman worked as a strength and conditioning coach at F.J. Reitz High School in Evansville, Ind., where he worked with seven varsity teams.
Gossman earned his master’s degree in health promotion from Mississippi State University, and his bachelor’s degree in exercise science from the University of Southern Indiana. He also holds certifications from the National Strength and Conditioning Association (CSCS), Titleist Performance Institute (TPI Lv.1) and American Red Cross (First Aid/CPR/AED).
