Indira Bricker joined the University of Pittsburgh Sports Medicine Department in August of 2021. She is a board-certified athletic trainer and licensed through the Pennsylvania State Board of Medicine and works in the Fitzgerald Field House with the men’s and women’s cross country and track and field teams. Indira holds certifications in BLS/CPR, IASTM and Gait Analysis. In addition to her clinical responsibilities, she is also a preceptor for Pitt’s athletic training program, an adjunct professor for Chatham University, and a member of UPMC’s Athletic Training Staff Education and Journal Club Committee.
Before working in Pitt’s Sports Medicine Department, Indira received her master’s degree in Sports Medicine from the University of Pittsburgh, primarily working on concussion diagnostic and return to play research. During this time Indira was an athletic trainer at Chatham University assisting with basketball, soccer, lacrosse, and swimming. Prior to her arrival in Pittsburgh Indira worked as an Athletic Trainer for Mankato West High School in Mankato, Minnesota.
Indira received degrees in Athletic Training and Biology from Presentation College in Aberdeen, SD. While there she was a four-year scholarship athlete on the volleyball team, a teaching assistant for the anatomy and physiology lab, class president, and a member of the cheer club as well other campus clubs and organizations. As an athletic training student, she worked with the NAHL Aberdeen Wings Hockey team, PC’s soccer and football teams, local high schools, in-patient PT and physician clinic, occasionally accompanying the doctor to the OR.
Indira resides in Squirrel Hill with her husband, Anthony Bricker, and their two cats, Nala and Luna.

I love being outside and exploring but also relaxing on the couch watching tv or playing video games.
