2010 Scouting Report: Enters his first active season at Pitt following a 2009 transfer from Virginia...will provide immediate help at tight end, a position the Panthers will be retooling this year following the departures of NFL Draft selections Dorin Dickerson and Nate Byham...excellent size and smarts.
2009: Did not play in any games under NCAA transfer guidelines.
At Virginia (2007-08): Lettered in 2008, playing in all 12 games and starting two...had three catches for 22 yards (7.3 avg.) on the year...had a career-high two catches for 16 yards in a starting assignment vs. East Carolina...other reception was a six-yarder against Maryland...also made a start against North Carolina...moved to defensive end near the end of the [apos]08 campaign...redshirted as a true freshman in 2007.
High School: Heralded tight end prospect at Mt. Lebanon...rated the nation[apos]s No. 11 tight end by Scout, No. 14 by Tom Lemming and No. 22 by Rivals...rated Pennsylvania[apos]s No. 13 overall prospect by Rivals, No. 16 by Scout and No. 19 by SuperPrep...PrepStar All-East Region...named to The Associated Press Pennsylvania Class AAAA All-State Team (second team)...Pittsburgh Post-Gazette 'Fabulous 22'...a two-way standout at Mt. Lebanon under Coach Chris Haering...had 60 tackles, 11 tackles for loss and two sacks as a senior...also had nine receptions for 118 yards and two touchdowns...selected to play in the prestigious Big 33 Football Classic...a 1,000-point career scorer in basketball...averaged more than 15 points per game as a junior to lead Mt. Lebanon to the WPIAL Class AAAA championship.
