2012: Played in all 13 games, starting 12 at defensive end...did not start Sept. 15 Virginia Tech game due to left wrist injury but still played...had 27 tackles, 4.5 TFLs and two sacks on the year...had a career-high four stops at Buffalo and again at Notre Dame.
2011: Did not play in any games and redshirted.
2010: After being sidelined during fall training camp due to a right foot fracture, Murphy entered active duty on Oct. 23 against Rutgers...played in six games as a reserve defensive end to letter...had one tackle on the year (vs. Kentucky in the BBVA Compass Bowl).
