2014: Was a top reserve at running back, playing in all 13 games as a true freshman...rushed for 437 yards and four touchdowns on 87 carries (5.0 avg.) and added one reception for 23 yards...replacing an injured James Conner in the second quarter of the Syracuse game, James rushed for a season-high 122 yards on 19 carries (6.4 avg.)...following his Syracuse performance, James played a complementary role to Conner in the regular-season finale at Miami and rushed for 58 yards on 11 carries (5.3 avg.) and a TD...his touchdown covered 15 yards and gave Pitt a 28-20 third-quarter lead over the Hurricanes in an eventual 35-23 win...in his collegiate debut, had 77 yards and two touchdowns on 14 carries (5.5 avg.) in the season opener vs. Delaware.
