2010 Scouting Report: Fourth-year walk-on who ranks among Pitt[apos]s most respected players on and off the field...a past recipient of the Demale Stanley Award, which goes to the team[apos]s most inspirational player...Cafaro earned the admiration of his teammates while undergoing treatment for cancer in 2007...he additionally was a 2008 finalist for the 'Rudy Award,' which honors college football players who demonstrate exemplary character, courage, contribution and commitment...was granted an additional year of eligibility by the NCAA after suffering a torn ACL in the [apos]09 season opener...will provide depth in the secondary and contribute on special teams this year.
2009: Was limited to just one game after sustaining a season-ending left knee injury in the opener against Youngstown State...had one tackle against YSU on the kickoff coverage unit.
2008: Earned his first letter...played in 11 games, establishing himself as an asset on Pitt[apos]s kickoff coverage unit...had two tackles, including stops against Notre Dame and West Virginia.

High School: Three-time all-section honoree at Upper St. Clair High under Coach Jim Render...earned three letters as a receiver, cornerback and kick returner for USC...compiled 16 interceptions and 12 blocked kicks during his three-year varsity career...scored 16 touchdowns and blocked eight kicks as a senior...helped team to a three-year record of 32-5 (.865), including three WPIAL Class AAAA playoff berths...his junior year, Upper St. Clair captured its conference title and advanced to the WPIAL championship game, finishing 12-1...Pittsburgh Post-Gazette 'Fabulous 22'...Pittsburgh Tribune-Review 'Terrific 25'... selected to play in the Pennsylvania Football Coaches Association East-West All-Star Game...also an all-state performer in baseball, earning three letters in that sport...named captain of both the football and baseball teams.
