2011: Did not play in any games...was limited in his practice participation while focusing on rehabilitation from a complex right knee injury sustained in September 2010.
2010: Pitt[apos]s starting middle linebacker at the beginning of the year, Mason was limited to just three games due to a significant right knee injury sustained in the Miami game (Sept. 23)...was awarded a medical redshirt...had 16 tackles on the season...had a season-high seven tackles in the opener at Utah.
2009: Played in all 13 games, starting three...had 26 tackles, 3.5 TFLs, two sacks and an INT...made two starts at MLB (Navy and NC State) for the injured Adam Gunn...also made a start at Will linebacker against North Carolina in the Meineke Car Care Bowl...made a key play in Pitt[apos]s bowl victory when he intercepted a UNC pass on the goal line late in the first half to turn back a scoring threat...earned Big East Defensive Player of the Week for his performance against Navy, when he had a season-high 11 tackles and two sacks in the first starting assignment of his career.
