2019: Played in 12 games, serving on special teams and as a reserve tight end/fullback…lone missed contest was at Penn State due to injury…totaled four tackles on coverage units (one each in the Delaware, Duke, Georgia Tech and Boston College games)…named a semifinalist for the prestigious National Football Foundation William V. Campbell Trophy, awarded to college football’s top scholar-athlete...named to the prestigious Hampshire Honor Society by the National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame, which is comprised of college football players from all divisions of play who maintained a cumulative 3.2 grade-point average or better throughout their college career.
2018: Awarded a scholarship before the season began, Medure went on to make the biggest contributions of his career…played in all 14 games as a reserve tight end and on special teams…had three catches for 29 yards (9.7 avg.) on the year…had a season-high two receptions for 14 yards at Wake Forest…also had a 15-yard reception against Albany…totaled four tackles on special teams units…snuffed out a Georgia Tech fake punt by dropping Antwan Owens for a two-yard loss…the Panthers capitalized with a short touchdown drive for a 14-0 lead in the eventual 24-19 win.
2017: Played in 11 games, serving on special teams and as a reserve linebacker to earn his first letter…totaled four tackles on kick coverage units…had a career-high two stops against Rice.
2016: Did not play in any games.
2015: Joined team as a training camp walk-on and redshirted.
HIGH SCHOOL: A starter since his freshman season at Neshannock, Medure’s varsity career coincided with the best three-year period in school history…the Lancers made three consecutive WPIAL Class A playoff berths from 2012-14, reaching the semifinals each year…was the Big Seven Conference Defensive Player of the Year as a senior linebacker, leading Neshannock to an 11-1 overall record and the Big Seven title with a 7-0 mark…first team All-Big Seven at tight end…Pennsylvania Football News All-Class A Honorable Mention…played under Coach Fred Mozzocio…also lettered in track and field and basketball…National Honor Society member.
PERSONAL: James Paul Medure, born 1/13/97, is the son of Jim and Erin Medure…has two brothers and one sister…earned his bachelor's degree in biological sciences and is pursuing a second major in sociology.
